Which Skydiving Suit Fit Should I Choose?

There is no single correct fit for every skydiver. The best option depends on your discipline, experience, fall rate and the type of flying you normally do.

  • Choose Tight Fit if you want a fast, precise and performance-focused suit.
  • Choose Standard Fit if you want the best balance of comfort and performance.
  • Choose Relaxed Fit if you want additional room, comfort or more fabric to help with fall-rate control.

Fit Is About More Than Body Size

Two skydivers with similar measurements may require very different suits depending on their flying style.

Your weight, height, body shape, experience, discipline and typical flying partners can all influence the most suitable cut.

This is why Jedi Airwear suits are made to measure rather than simply selected from standard clothing sizes.

Freefly, Formation Skydiving & Camera Flying

Different skydiving disciplines place different demands on a suit.

A performance freefly suit will normally require a cleaner and more athletic profile, while an FS suit may use additional fabric, grips and booties to provide the required flying characteristics.

Camera flying can require further consideration around mobility, articulation and the interaction between the suit or camera jacket and the parachute harness.

Your suit should therefore be configured around what you actually fly, rather than simply how tight or loose you normally like your clothing.

Getting Your Measurements Right

Accurate measurements are essential when ordering a made-to-measure skydiving suit.

Follow the Jedi Airwear measurement instructions carefully and, where possible, have another person take your measurements rather than measuring yourself.

Do not deliberately add extra centimetres to create a looser fit. Tell us the fit you require and provide your true body measurements — we will allow for the appropriate amount of ease when cutting the suit.
